Optical label processing scheme using optical digital-to-analog converters (ODAC’s) and a self-gate pulse generator with phase-modulated preamble are presented. Preliminary results of semiconductor ODAC’s and the improvement of output light power stability is shown. And successful generation of a single gate pulse regardless of packet period and autonomous operation of ODAC with self-generated gate pulse are demonstrated.
