Nowadays, the concept of power- proportionality has been recognized as one of important metrics in storage systems. Based on this idea, a number of proposals focusing on data placement, load balancing and so on have been proposed and evaluated to be successful in providing such characteristic to storage system. In this paper, the empirical experimental evaluation on performances of representative data placement proposals in this area is
reported.
