アブストラクト
We have investigated availability of liquid crystallinity in fabrication of organic field effect transistor (FET) by solution process. The liquid crystalline terthiophene and quarterthiophene derivatives show uniform film fabrication by spin coat at liquid crystal phase and the FET mobility of the polycrystalline thin film was over 0.1 cm2/Vs. This high FET mobility indicates that the polycrystalline thin films spin coated in liquid crystal phase have intrinsic carrier transport without grain boundaries. These results indicate that
liquid crystallinity is important for excellent polycrystalline thin films.
