Small signal gain of Solar-pumped laser system is measured. A Nd:YAG crystal and two Cr:Nd:YAG ceramics are used for this study. All experiments about mall signal gain is performed in the same day which is so sunny because stability of incident solar power is important for this measurement. Although its distribution should be axial symmetric, all results of laser media was not symmetric distribution.
In addition, slope efficiency of each laser medium is measured by changing output coupling mirrors. Even though the distribution of small signal gain is not axial symmetry, laser output corresponds to calculated results using the distribution of small signal gain.
