Corrosion experiments for RAFM, JLF-1 steel (Fe–9Cr–2W–0.1C) in three types of liquid breeders (i.e. Li,
Pb–17Li and Flinak) were performed at 600
◦
C. The influence of the different experimental parameters,
such as a flowing condition, an exposure time and a geometric condition, on the corrosion behavior was
investigated. The present study focused on the evaluation of the weight loss of the corroded specimen
by the corrosion model based on mass transfer. The dissolution of the metal elements from the steel was
accelerated by the fluids. An erosion–corrosion of the steel was caused by the peeling off of the corroded
steel surface in the flowing liquid breeders.
