アブストラクト
The effective slenderness ratio of the compression member for light gauge built-up members are following the formula proposed for heavy sections; however, it is not verified that it can be adopted in light gauge. In this paper, full scale testing of built-up light gauge members are conducted. From the test results it will be shown that current code will overestimate the buckling strength. Based on energy method theory, effective slenderness ratio for built-up members of light gauge is derived. The validity of the proposed formula is shown by the comparison between test results and parametric finite element analysis results.
