The overpass of the Tomei Expressway has been in operation for 50 years, and repairs are progressing with aging. While the overpass in Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture, has also been inspected and repaired, many cracks have been detected on the lower surface of the PC-girder of the standard oblique π-shape bridge and the decrease in prestress is suspected as a cause. This paper reports the results of investigations to estimate the cause of the measured deflection and assess the structural safety of the bridge.
